  • Meditation Basics what, why, health benefits, mudras, mandalas, yantras and mantras
  • The Art of Meditation Tibetan Gelugpa lineage, meditation within the 8-limbs yoga context, breathing and mindful movement
  • Mindfulness  a modern approach to an ancient art, calendars, meditations

You will:
  • Find a variety of ways to relax the body and mind
  • Learn about focusing your attention
  • Have an overview of meditation within the yoga context
  • Find suggested purposes for meditation
  • Have an understanding of the Tibetan Gelugpa lineage
  • Have an appreciation of mindfulness
  • Have experienced mindful movement sequences
  • Have practised breathing or pranayama
  • Have experienced relaxation
  • Have experienced different meditations
  • Practised leading meditations
  • Be able to suggest meditation techniques to people you may be teaching or working with in your field of work
  • Be confident to guide meditations for others

What is Yoga Therapy?

  • Yoga therapy is like using yoga as a medicine for health and well-being.
  • Yoga therapy can be enjoyed as a practice in itself or for recovery from injury or illness.
  • Yoga postures and sequences are modified to accommodate individual needs along with a combination of breathing exercises and relaxation.
  • You'll find similar exercises in yoga therapy to those in physiostherapy and pilates for example.  What's the difference?  Yoga looks at the whole body and co-ordinates movement with breath for well-being through a holistic experience.

Christine is a registered trainer with Yoga Alliance Professionals. 
This accreditation demonstrates excellent standards as set by Yoga Alliance Professionals.

Christine is a yoga therapist, accredited by The British Council for Yoga Therapy, registered with the CNHC, she is also both a British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Alliance trainer.  She is a registered teacher of the Yoga for Backs programme and has completed post-graduate oncology therapy training.  Christine is a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals.  This accreditation demonstrates excellent standards as set by Yoga Alliance Professionals.

Christine is a reiki teacher and remedial oriental therapist.  Classes are small and accommodate individual requirements in a dedicated, private, fully-equipped yoga studio.
